3-7-2018 meeting minutes

TOWN OF ARBOR VITAE - General Meeting - March 7, 2018

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Bauers called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. It had been properly posted and the media notified.

ROLL CALL: Present Frank Bauers, Jeff Hunter, Brian Nerdahl, Ryan Johnson and Ashley Roach.  Brian Jopek from the Lakeland Times and 16 others were also present.

AGENDA:  Motion by Johnson, second by Nerdahl to approve the agenda. Motion carried.

MINUTES: Motion by Nerdahl, second by Roach to approve the minutes of the February 21st, 2018 meeting as read. Motion carried.

PUBLIC COMMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE:  1) 2017 Assembly Bill 480 gave an exemption to propane delivery trucks during road limits. There are a few stipulations such as truck capacity, weight and that there be a gauge of each truck showing the amount of propane.

LAKELAND ATV-UTV TRAIL REQUEST – LOCAL ACCESS ONLY: The board listened to the requests that were received from individuals that wanted local access from their homes to the designated ATV route. Snowmobiles can do it and they requested the same. Bauers brought up the 2016 referendum and the peoples vote and felt that the trail just opened last year and we already had a request for an additional trail and now local access. Johnson stated that the letter we received from the ATV Club had 8 road access request and felt that every meeting would bring requests for more. The established trail routes are the only thing that will be on the map. Board members felt we should open all local access to the trails and see how it goes.   Motion by Roach, second by Johnson to allow local access to the trails, highway access at marked crossings only, and don’t use roads marked NO ACCESS.  Unanimously approved.

OPERATOR LICENSES: None to report

CODIFICATION DISCUSSION: The board started to go over the codification of our ordinances. This will be a project for the next couple of meetings. Changes will be submitted so we can receive our final this spring.

ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at 8:35PM. The next general meeting is March 21st, 2018 at 7:00PM.
