HWY. 51 PROJECT – CITIZENS CONCERNS: Residents along Hwy 51 have some concerns and would like the towns support. They would like to see the speed limit reduced or extended from BP to Tuckaway Rd. They would like the DNR and the DOT work together on a parking plan because the widening of the road with the center lane and the sidewalks, several business will lose parking.  They also would like to make sure that no access points are lost for anyone. Bauers said he would write to the DOT in support of those items. Bauers also reported that the storm sewer was cleaned out and another one was repaired and that jake brake signs are not site specific so it would not help the area with the noise.

MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT - TOWNS: A mutual aid agreement is being considered in our area for towns. In the event of an unforeseen emergency would we be interested in signing an agreement to have our town road crew aid another town. The two closest towns don’t feel that their taxpayers would approve of this policy. Motion by Bauers, second by Perry not to enter into an agreement at this time. Unanimously approved.

TREE AND LAWN PLANTING:  Welch got a price from a local business to bring in 10 red and silver maple trees approximately 20’tall that they would plant for the price of $325.00 per tree Motion by Nerdahl, second by Held to approve the spending of $4500.00 on the trees and grass planting. Unanimously approved.

OPERATORS LICENSES: There were none.

HEALTH INSURANCE DISCUSSION: The town changed insurance carriers last year to try to hold down the price of health insurance. The renewal price came with a 17% increase. Most increases in the area were higher. The employees pay 10% of their premium and would like to stay with WPS another year. Motion by Hunter, second by Bauers to renew the medical insurance with WPS. Unanimously approved.
