November 20, 2013 Meeting Minutes

 

TOWN OF ARBOR VITAE  - General Meeting - November 20, 2013

ANNUAL BUDGET HEARING: Chairman Bauers called the Annual Budget Hearing to order at 7:00PM and read the proposed budget line by line to the electors. 

SPECIAL TOWN MEETING OF ELECTORS: Chairman Bauers called the Special Town Meeting to order. Motion by Dan Reuland, second by Todd Hunter to approve the total 2014 highway expenditures as presented. Motion carried. Motion by Judy Bauers, second by Dan Reuland to adopt the 2013 town tax levy to be paid in 2014 as presented. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 7:12PM.

SPECIAL TOWN BOARD MEETING: Chairman Bauers called the Special Town Board meeting to order. Motion by Held, second by Bauers to adopt the 2014 budget as presented. Motion carried. Motion by Bauers second by Perry to adjourn the meeting at 7:14PM.

 

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Bauers called the general meeting to order at 7:20PM. immediately following the budget meetings. It had been properly posted and the media notified.

ROLL CALL: Present Frank Bauers, Jeff Hunter, Richard Held, Brian Nerdahl and Steve Perry.  Jonathan Anderson from the Lakeland Times and 3 others were also present.  

AGENDA: Motion by Perry, second by Hunter to approve the agenda.  Motion carried.

MINUTES:  Motion by Held, second by Perry to approve the minutes of the November 6th, meeting after amending the date for the next general board meeting. Motion carried.

TREASURER’S REPORT:  The October report was reviewed by the board.  Motion by Nerdahl, second by Hunter to approve the report as presented. Motion carried. The delinquent personal property list is really going down.       

PUBLIC COMMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE: 1)Rick Clem and Bauers signed the contract for the Building Inspector appointment. 2)The board received thank you notes from New Dawn Pregnancy Center and LUHS Soccer for use of the town hall.

 

BUILDING INSPECTOR FEES & INSPECTIONS: Rick Clem was not at the meeting and the board had some questions concerning his fees and the inspection of additions to homes built prior to June 1, 1980. Bauers will talk to Clem and it will be discussed again next month.

 

OPERATOR’S LICENSE:  None to report.

 

BUILDING REPORT: 3-houses $570,000.00, 2-garages $60,000.00, 1-addition $75,300.00,   1-walkway $2,750.00, 1-concrete pad $1,300.00. October’s total $709,400.00. Year’s total $3,838,532.00.

 

APPROVE CHECKS & VOUCHERS:  Checks 35555 to 35643 were approved for November in the amount of $100,116.12.

 

ADJOURNMENT: The meeting adjourned at meeting at 7:40PM. The next general meeting is December 4, 2013.
