August 7, 2013 Board Meeting Minutes

 

 TOWN OF ARBOR VITAE 

General Meeting

August 7, 2013

CALL TO ORDER: Chairman Bauers called the meeting to order at 7:00PM. It had been properly posted and the media notified.

ROLL CALL: Present Frank Bauers, Richard Held, Brian Nerdahl, Jeff Hunter and Steve Perry.   Brian Jopek, Lakeland Times and two others were also present.

AGENDA:  Motion by Held, second by Perry to approve the agenda. Motion carried. 

MINUTES: Motion by Nerdahl, second by Held to approve the minutes of the July 24th, 2013 meeting as read. Motion carried.          

PUBLIC COMMENTS / CORRESPONDENCE:  1)Vilas County Public Health Dept will be having a meeting with Animal Control Officers on 8-14-13.  2)Request for a donation for the Gresham Lakes Assoc Inc Aquatic Invasive Species Fund. 3) The fire truck should be delivered before Thanksgiving.

PERMISSION TO MOVE A HOUSE TO ARBOR VITAE: Ken Wickman was present to request the moving of a late 1970’s Wausau Home to Arnett Rd. that he will use as a rental. Leon Butler inspected both home and garages and felt they seemed to be in very good condition. Bauers explained to Wickman that he went to a fire call on another one of Wickman’s properties and there were no smoke or CO detectors at the home. He stressed to Wickman to make sure this house was code compliant. Motion by Bauers, second by Perry to agree to allowing the house be moved to Arbor Vitae. Unanimously approved. 

BUILDING INSPECTOR DISCUSSION: Leon Butler would like to retire in the end of October. His certifications are good through June of 2014 and he would like to help his replacement get acquainted with the position. He hopes we can hire an Arbor Vitae resident. We will get a job description together and advertise later.

OPERATORS LICENSES:  None to report.

TRID PROJECT – OLD HWY 51N: Pitlik is putting in the culverts and will pave by the end of the week of the 15th. Nerdahl talked to Bollmann and asked if they had any problems, did they feel they were on track and to discuss the ditch line. He also talked to one of the neighbors who is elated with the project and felt Pitlik was very accommodating.

ADJOURNMENT:  Motion by Held, second by Perry to adjourn the meeting at 7:25PM. The next general meeting is August 21st, 2013.
